About

Mission

Matera European photography was born as an organization aiming to become a solid and valid point of reference for the circulation and growth of the culture of photography. Through a series of projects, activities and effective experiences, educational and in-depth analysis, it intends to concretely have a didactic role, spreading the culture of photography through all the communicative channels and relations both through the city of Matera - European capital of culture, and all the territory of the Lucania, both on a national and international level, with a specific focus on Europe. Matera European Photography promotes both individual and collective projects. It includes documentations of the territory, publications and studies on the visual communication.
