Vilma Rimpela

Vilma Rimpelä (born in 1995) is a photographer and filmmaker based in Finland. She is graduating as a photographer from Lahti Institute of Arts and Design in May 2019. In her previous works Rimpelä has explored Finnish sub-cultures such as the world of biohackers and the stories behind undergound drag queens. Rimpelä has took a part of several group exhibitions and in summer 2019 she will debute her first international exhibition in London.
Rimpelä is working as a freelance photographer and she is part of a media production company Raja. She has been working for example for Finnish newspaper Helsingin Sanomat, Red Cross Finland and Sony Music Entertainment Finland. Currently Rimpelä is founding a new culture media for the youth by the youth called RARE.”
